Post Christmas Joys

It was a great week at the bar. Great times and good beverages were served to all.

Not a fan of snow nor a fan of kids. That is why I work at a bar and not at a toy store. The kids I can deal with, but the snow is too much. I will never get how one can ask for a White Christmas and then complain about it messing up their Holiday.

I was so happy to get just gift cards and Gator stuff. I even got a Derek Jeter jersey that had 3 team's colors on it. Kinda funny but not cool. He will always be a Yankee.

Jags lose but are still in the hunt for the playoffs. Titans lose and the Locals are going crazy calling for Fisher's head and VY's. Cure to the problem, Bud Adams, know who got you to a Super Bowl while VY was still in Middle School.

Indy needs to realize that Peyton is one player and get them as far as he can. Hurt players and him being Peyton is not going to get them back to the Super Bowl.

I have yet to see a game at the new Texas Stadium, but I can not wait. I have been to 2 Thanksgiving games in the Old one. Oh the Memories.

I am one who loves Bowl Season and am always happy that they have a lot of bowl games. I just wish that I could watch them all. Seems as if Christmas and Country shows are a bit more important to some at the bar. Just glad that I still have my trusty old Black and white TV, at home, to watch them on.

I love that everyone in the world loves to show off their lights 2 and 1/2 months ahead of Christmas. I am just lost to as why they take them down the day of or the day after Christmas. Where is your Pride????

I am still laughing that Philly had a snow out game. How does that happen? What is Next, Miller Field not knowing what to do with too much beer? It is just not right.

Oh wait, the Bocce Ball Tourney is about over and the wings are just right. Time for them to get their cold brews and warm shots.

Have a great evening and cheers to all.

Looks Like A Chili kinda night...

Well I did not post last week due to being busy as hell, but there were a few other reasons. All was already said by the great sportswriters. I would have had nothing to add to the fluff that was said about a Bronco offing himself and a Jet getting a DUI.

I do want to say this, and I mean this, if I knew that I could get drunk everyday and night and have my bosses pay for the ride w/ no questions asked, I would never F that up. That might just be me. I would use it just to impress the honey down the road that one of my ex wives might not like. Just saying.

I always wonder where sports fans come from. I mean I know that there are die hards like me that sport tat or wear team colors for every game. We are easy to pick out and to make fun of. I am OK w/ that. I just wonder what the hell happened to some of the Vol fans that are now cheering for Bama to beat The Gators just so they have a chance to win the SEC East title. Are you serious?

I guess I am lost because I pull for my few teams that I like but I have never pulled for a team that I hate, like Vols hate Bama to beat anyone. That is like me back when UT and FSU played for the National Title. I sat back, had a few cold ones and watched some idiot named The Rooster F it all up.

I can not stand FSU nor Georgia. I will never pull for them to beat anyone or anything.

Now onto brighter things in sports and life,

Yankees are still not cleared to being in the Playoffs, but I am still hoping that the pitching staff starts to get back to where it was. I wish that I had nails to chew to make it to the end of the season.

Gators beat Kentucky and all that is good and grand but when you have a Freshman QB scoring more TD's in a game than Tebow, phew talk about a lot of extra hype that he does not need.

Denny Hamlin is mad about everything again and gets into a cussing match w/ Harvick. Yeah let me know how that works out for you. JD Gibbs even said that Denny needs to shut up.

Clint drops from 2nd to 12th in The Chase, but keeps the win. I still never understand how that makes sense.

What is it w/ the Jets and Dolphins? One of the best games of the day. Oh wait, they always play great games.

I won my fantasy game this evening by a few points. I am so glad that Driver did not have a great game.

Have a great Tuesday and Cheers to all.

A day off.. Yeah right....

So I am the bar and all I hear is about Bush deciding to give up his lil trophy. That was mighty nice of you since you were never eligible to play. I do not say that Vince should get it at all. Lets just keep it vacated for that year.

Yankees finally beat the Rays in extra innings by a solo shot from Posada and a throw from the right fielder to 3rd base to get the base runner out at third out. That was awesome. I kinda wish I would have yelled while the bar was still kicking.

Do tennis players really roll on the ground after they have won time after time? How many times do we see football and baseball players get accused of "showing up" the other team after a TD or Homer? Act like you have done it before.

I am all about a good celebration and TO and Ocho are the best at it, but come on, rolling on the ground and crying. Give me a break. No wonder a lot of cats have no respect for tennis players. Oh wait, I do the same when I hit 76 on my bowling team. Then we do shots and make out with our super hot barmaids.

As a side note, I am ready for a day off of sports. Oh wait it is Wednesday so that means trades, roster moves and fantasy picks.
Last Call

Still can not believe that Bobby B. picked his Noles to win on Saturday.

Still can not believe that I hear Vol fans say that losing to the Ducks was a fluke.

I am really still amazed that James (Dolly) Madison beat Va Tech.

Jets and Giants in the same Stadium again? It looks good.

I won in both of my H2H fantasy leagues.

Rivers and Rain was too much on Monday night.

I never enjoyed a 10 -9 game like I did Monday night.

I never want to meet Ray Lewis in an opposing teams jersey. I do have his jersey when he played for The U.

Rex and his Pops are great, always keep talking. And they say I have a potty mouth?!?!?!

That is it for now,

Have a great Hump Day and remember, if it wasn't for sports we would have to deal w/ the real world.

Weekend In Review From The B&G

What a weekend, a full slate of action. NFL opening Sunday, Baseball, College Football and some good racing at Richmond.

Not even sure where to start off. I was great to see that the NASCAR gods got it right and made the cars look like they kinda do in the show room. The Nationwide Series have a new type of car similar to the Cup guys and I dig it. The Cup race Saturday night was good but was over shadowed due to the a** whooping that UT got put on them but a Flock of Ducks !!!! My neighbors almost started a small riot out in the sticks. Love The Quack Attack !!!!!!

Games that shocked me, there were just a few from Saturday, James Madison, not to be confused by Dolly Madison. I am thinking that Va. Tech thought that they were playing them. Sorry Boise, I like you, but this kinda does not help your case into the BCS Championship if the experts are correct and tOSU and Bama go undefeated.

I would have to say that Kansas beating Georgia Tech kinda shocked me. Didn't see that one coming. I heard so many great things about UCLA this year and looked forward to a great game but when they got shutout by the Stanford Woods, then I just had to shake my head.

The Yankees are killing me. They have lost 3 in a row and the last 6 of 10. I do hope that they know that they are now just leading the Rays by 1/2 game. Still love my Yankees.

Maybe they are just cooling their jets like The Colts did last year. Ugh, oh wait, how did that work out for them? Now you know I could not go without messing w/ UT fans and Colts fans. They are basically the same. I did not get to see the game, but how is he the top scorer on every Fantasy League yet his team loses? Schwab had a weak game for the Texans? By the way, Quack Quack.

Last Call at the Bar, so here goes;

OK over FSU. I loved it. made my day to see them get crushed by anyone.

South Carolina over UGA, that made my day. The Ole Ball Coach takes down Georgia again.

Lucky that I got Chris Johnson on an automated draft fantasy league.

Bama and tOSU in the National Championship game. Not really going out on a limb, just saying.

Is the wire to the Offensive Coordinator disconnected. Seems as if not too much is getting through.

That is it from here, have to serve a few locals a Bar Mat Special. Cheers!!!

Friday Bight Review

What a night, NASCAR in the new style cars and an overtime game.

I was happy to see Kevin win at Richmond this evening. It was a good race and I love seeing the new style cars. They actually look like what they do in the show rooms. Any time we get to see Delana is a good evening.

Kyle Busch in the pink car w/ kittens, a unicorn, baby seal and an ice cream cone is a good thing. That was awesome. To the girl that designed may she get a huge prize.

What about Marshall and West Virginia going into overtime? It seemed as if Marshall had the upset in its back pocket. Gotta love overtime. I am still trying to figure out how dude missed it wide right. It looked good to me. Must have been the angle. It was worse then The 'Noles' kickers.

I will be damned if the Yankees did not lose another one. This is getting too close for comfort for me. I know that it was the Rangers, but come on. Never should have lost 2 out of 3 to the O's.

I am leading in my fantasy league at the moment but I am nervous. A lot of games yet to get played.

The U vs. The O, kinda looking forward to that. I am sure that OSU will take care of business. Bama vs. Penn State, guess Bama will win that one. I am guessing a Bama/tOSU National Title game. I know, not really going on a limb, but just saying. More than likely my Gators will get beat by Bama twice this year.

Going to have a race in Richmond for the Cup guys tomorrow which will be the final race before The Chase. Not sure what is funnier The Chase or actually thinking that anyone gives a damn. I love NASCAR but it just seems that more "fans" just keep ignoring the sport.

Not sure how to fix it, but if NFL goes on strike next year, who knows the stands might get filled up again at the race tracks.

By the way, I am raising my middle finger to the players that think that unemployed and pay check to pay check fans care that you are getting screwed by the owners. You knew what you were getting into. Yeah, wish that I could be out of work for a few months and lose $250K but knew that I would get the rest of my $36 Million contract when it was done. There is a reason why they are called "owners".

When was the last time that WWE "wrestlers" went on strike? And to try and compare yourselves as regular workers is an Eff'n joke.

On a happy note, my grilled chicken and drinks were awesome this evening.

That is all for now, I have got to wake up early so I can watch a lot of pre game shows and get ready for a great day of College Football !!!

Pre Game Warm Ups

I will keep this short.

The beer is cold and the wings are hot. Everything is ready for the 2010 kickoff. I double checked my fantasy teams and I am hyped.

Not big into the pregame music stuff, but it is all good.

Feeling like this is such a rush. I played football for a few years and baseball since I was a young lad. I remember what it is like to get so amped to go out on the field for the first time of every season. Even now, in my latter years of playing softball, it never mattered. I woud be pissed but syked at the same moment.

I love to feel that way again now that I am just a fan. I could careless who wins but I need Drew and Percy to have a great game.

Enjoy the game and just remember, it is not just a game to us fantasy football owners.

Cheers !!!!!!

B&G Nightcap

It has been a long day at the Bar & Grill but I have to say that it has been fun.

I was able to see the Yankees finally beat the pesky O's. I was getting kinda nervous. Got to love to see a Walk Off Homer.

I saw where Ingram is running but not likely to play against Penn State. I have said all off season that Bama is the team to beat. They should be able to beat Penn State w/out him but it will be fun to see.

Ohio State fans, my Brother and Father included, saying that The Ohio State is the team to beat. I guess we will see if they can sweep the Big 11.

Did I hear news about a former Gator beating out some QB from Notre Dame? Who knew, haters insert foot now.

I set my final rosters for my fantasy football teams earlier and I have to say that it is a lot easier when no money is involved. How did I ever manage to stay married and and keep my kids when real money was involved. Worse thing about playing fantasy sports is that you have to root for a team and then also pull against the same team.

Had a cold beer earlier to calm my nerves and I have to say that the 3rd one worked. Do they make those goofy hats that hold 3 of them. That would make it a lot easier.

Am I the only one that have kinda put NASCAR to the side for this weekend just because of all of the football going on? I heard where Kyle Busch said that the most boring race is at Pocono. Maybe NASCAR needs to schedule a race there this weekend. Richmond is a great track to race at but just might lose a lot of viewers because of the weekend.

In closing I must say that it has been a fun lazy day sportswise. I dread the next one that I get.

Be well and Cheers!!!!

Post Labor Day Things.

Got to love a day after we witness a great College Football game between Boise State and Va. Tech. A lot of the splendor gets overshadowed by things about Haynesworth and that running back, from USC that dated Bruce Jenner's daughter, being told to give up a trophy. It was good money well spent. Ask the coach in Seattle how it worked out. Oh, I forgot he had no clue.

There was some mention of the 51-49 game between 2 teams that have no defense but it did bump the NHRA coverage on ESPN2.

Funny how it goes. Hell, even a McEnroe was in the news regarding something. No, not the good one that kicked and cussed.

Glad to see that there was some news that was good. Just was told that some former Bears player said that he hope that The Vikings beat up The Saints like Hurricane Katrina. He must not like <insert race> people either.

Braves got beat, ugh oh.

Sad that the Yankees lost 3 in a row but I was happy as hell that Thome is knocking homer after homer w/out ever being accused of using a thing. I am a Yankees fan and I have to say that as much as I love A-Rod, I lost a lot of respect for him. I never juiced and l led my softball league, for 5 years, in homers. All I took was a couple of pain killers and a few Natty Ice's. That does not count.

Looking forward to another day of Mike & Mike discussing whatever they do for an hour while I get ready to do nothing. I can not wait to see what Dan Patrick and The Danettes have to say.

Am I the only one that has still set their final roster for this weekends NFL action?

That is all for now from the bar and grill.

Have a great Hump Day.
